It will also return to the location where it left off when its battery runs low during cleaning, so you don't have to re-clean the same areas. You can set the timer to start and stop cleaning with the voice command or via the iRobot App. This smart vacuum can even clean in darkness!

Carpet Boost is another great feature. It provides the S9 more suction power when it comes into contact with carpeting, meaning it will pick up more dirt. The unit also has a square front design that is more close to corners and walls as opposed to the earlier round designs. This model does not work well with shag or high-pile carpeting.

During our testing we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a range of flooring surfaces, ranging from medium-pile to hard carpets and rugs. It also performed well with vinyl, and laminate floors. It did a great job of navigating furniture and objects, but it had some trouble with stairs, where it could crash into bookcases.

The S9's ability to automatically return to its base and empty its dust bin when it's full was an excellent feature. It eliminated the need for manual maintenance. The dust bin is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and a half. It's recommended to replace the filter on a regular basis (as suggested by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not extremely loud when it's operating which makes it a great option for families with pets or children.

Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

Robot Vacuum & Mop vacuum cleaners are made to do the dirty work for you, and they can clean hardwood and carpeted flooring. Certain robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled by apps on smartphones, and others have mopping technology for bathrooms and kitchen flooring. They're an excellent solution for busy families, and they're becoming more affordable than ever. However, if you want the latest features in your robotic cleaner, you're going to have to spend a bit more.

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is an all-in-one vacuum and mopping machine, making it a good choice for those in a home with multiple floors. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold plenty of pet hair. Dual motors give powerful cleaning power. The dustbin is easily removed and emptied, which is great because you'll need to do this regularly.

It's also simple to set up, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the very first time. You'll need to install the Eufy Home app and follow the instructions for connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Once you've done that the app will assist you to create a detailed map of your home. Rooms can be named or divide large spaces into smaller rooms (good for open-plan living) and direct the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at the time of. Eufy's application is more user-friendly and precise than other robots with similar mapping and scanning functions.

The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can turn on the mop or vacuum cleaner by voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice addition that makes the robot even more hands-free. It also works well in our test house.

Like many robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It is prone to miss fur and small items and tends to bump things like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as other models we've tested and the whirring sound can be distracting.

Roborock V3S Pro

This model doesn't have the same number of features as some of the more expensive ones we tested, however it does cover the basics. It has a large enough dust bin to hold plenty of dirt until it's empty and its vacuum and mop system works great on both carpets that are hard and low-pile. It's also very quiet, and we could watch TV while it was cleaning without feeling like it was bombarding us with noise.

Our testers loved how easy it was to install and use, and were amazed by its ability to take all the messes off their flooring. It even did a pretty excellent job of removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, although it was less successful in removing stubborn staining. The app was simple to use and intuitive. It was able to schedule the vacuum to clean regularly to minimize the amount of manual work. The one downside is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't direct it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).

The V3S Pro is another model in iRobot’s affordable line. It offers several impressive features for an affordable cost. It beat out all other robotic vacuums we tested when it comes to finding and avoiding obstacles and it's the perfect option for those who are looking for an intelligent self-emptying robot vacuum that can handle pet hair and messes on carpets with low pile and hardwood floors. It's also quiet and has a huge dust bin that can hold plenty of debris before it has to be empty.

While the V3S Pro didn't earn a place in any of our top choices compilations from reliable sources that conduct hands-on testing, it still got high marks from reviewers at Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews, and The Ambient. They appreciated the ease with which it was install and use, but they did note that its battery life is short and it didn't manage to avoid some of the most stubborn mess we've put it through.

The Q Revo is an entry-level robot vacuum and robot vacuum & mop mop that offers a lot of features at a fair price. You can get many of the premium features, including smart navigation and mapping without paying top dollar. You can also make use of voice commands via Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations and begin cleaning at any time while you're away.

Roborock took its time in designing this smart cleaner. The result is that the product is extremely solid and feels like it was made with premium materials. The base is sturdy and solid, with a charging port integrated for the battery. You'll find the docking station for the clean-water tank and dirty-water bins on top. You'll also find a wall beneath the dock that houses the vacuum bag that is sealed.

After pairing your device with the app, you'll be able to see a 3D and 2D map of your home that shows you where your robot is located at any given time and the specific area it's cleaning. You can also create virtual barriers to keep your robot from certain areas or clean only certain kinds of flooring. It can also adjust its power settings based on the kind of floor being cleaned and choose the most efficient cleaning method.

The Q Revo is unlike many other robot vacuums because it can lift both mop heads while vacuuming. This prevents carpet fibers from getting stained. In fact, it's one of the only vacuums on the market that can do this.

The Q Revo's suction force of 5500Pa can remove pet hair and dust specks when mopping. The all-rubber brush is great at disentangling human and animal hair and adapting to uneven surfaces.

The only issue with this model is that it takes a long time to fill and empty both the dirty and clean tanks. Luckily, you can reduce the frequency of this by using the auto-empty feature that will automatically empty the container after a few days. You'll still need to check the water levels in the dock manually though, as there isn't an automatic reminder.
